Welcome to New MovieJawn: The Way of the Future!
Here’s our official press release:
MovieJawn Merges with Cinema76; Enters Brand New EraPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania - For Immediate Release
MovieJawn is absorbing the writing collective from Cinema76.com and folding them into their existing website and zine operations. The MovieJawn.com website is relaunching today as well, which will show off our continued dedication to films new and old. The deep bench of writers from both groups, now united under the MovieJawn name, will be covering new release movies, film festivals, and celebrating films of all kinds.
MovieJawn will continue to publish a quarterly zine as well as each weekday online. Rosalie Kicks will be Editor-in-Chief, Benjamin "Best Boy" Leonard will be the Managing Editor for the Zine, and Ryan Silberstein, formerly of Cinema76.com, will be Managing Editor, Website.
Hugo Marmugi will continue to act as Art Director for the zine and website. This leadership team is joined by an editorial staff that will be working on Outreach, overseeing MovieJawn's Newsletter, and other initiatives, including an official MovieJawn Podcast Network.
"Bringing together so many voices under one publication is going to expand our reach and allow us to do more than we could ever do as separate entities," said Rosalie Kicks, MovieJawn's Editor-in-Chief.
Cinema76.com will remain online for the foreseeable future as an archive for previously published material. MovieJawn launched in 2015 under founder Francis X. Friel.
"The future of movies is bright, and MovieJawn is going to be looking forward and backward as we come together in our deep love for this medium.," says Ryan Silberstein, Managing Editor.
