With four weeks left until production the Pizzaman crew has been keeping busy! Earlier this week we hosted a successful and super fun Bingo Fundraiser at Tattooed Mom’s. Thanks to all that came out!

Where's your favorite pizza place in Philadelphia?

I would be a liar if I said my most favorite pizza is in Philadelphia. However, Rosario’s at 15th and Wharton in South Philly has an Al Pastor za that is the light, the truth and the way. And for those who might be wondering where my most favorite pizza ever is, it is Sam’s in Wildwood NJ. Their broccoli za has my heart. It was love at first bite. I will battle each and every Mack’s fan on this coast about it.

What is your favorite pizza topping?

Either an Al Pastor, broccoli or a white with garlic and light fried onions. Surprisingly enough, not pepperoni, which my mom survived her whole pregnancy with me by.

What aspect of the Pizzaman production are you most looking forward to?

The premiere party of course, the red carpeted affair that will surely leave the town talking. And working with some new folks. It always makes me happy when I can keep connecting with film peeps in the area.

What's your favorite film and why?

My absolute most favorite film is Clue! Growing up, my childhood best friend and I rented it so many times from Blockbuster that we could have owned a few copies. Everything about it is perfection to me. The costumes, the way it is shot, the acting. As a child, I would be transfixed in front of the screen, each time noticing how magnetic Tim Curry’s eyes are, Lesley Ann Warren’s ridiculous amount of charm that still left you routing for Miss Scarlet, Mrs. White’s stoic and unsettling expressions and so on. Each character being more distinct than the last.

Do you have a favorite slasher flick? If so, what is it?

Scream is my JAM when it comes to slasher films!! And one I could quote forwards and backwards at age 10. However, Psycho and my love for Hitchcock started earlier than that thanks to my Grandmom. She actually showed me my very first horror film, ‘It’, another BIG favorite of mine, at age 6. And it didn’t take long for us to get into the 80’s classics. Horror for me will always hold a special place in my heart.

What do you love about making movies?

Where do I begin?! From inception to completion, the whole process of filmmaking is exhilarating. Nothing makes me bounce out of bed more than a morning before pictures up. I will say that I feel the most complete when I direct. But there are no small parts in the process and I love each and every one of them. Background is just as critical as the lead. PA is just as necessary as a director. None of these things can do without the other and any part I have on set is worth while.

Support some of Krystle’s upcoming projects…

I just acted in a short called Luna, a Null Pointer Films production and it was a lot of fun. I played a very unlikable character named Karen who goes to see a testing for a new product, a life like helping robot, when things don’t go according to plan, especially for Karen. A web series called The Chronicles Of, created by Jamaal Green, has been showing at some festivals and receiving some attention. I did the key hair, makeup and SPFX for that, as well as acted in a later episode that isn’t out yet, but will be. Daisy Derkins 3: Dinosaur Apocalypse, a Mark Mackner film, is wrapping up. I mostly wanted to mention it because of the title. I play Sister Slaughter and it is as amazing as it sounds. Look out for that next year. And of course, I will be the voice of the Pizza Heaven operator in the soon to be Oscar award winning short, Pizzaman!
